Welcome to the Mindscape.

The term Mindscape refers to a mental landscape where ideas are visually manifested. The purpose of Mindscape is to investigate the process of translating ideas into visual form and reveal how the resulting imagery affects the world around us. This is done by making creative works and examining works made by other people.

I was born. Then stuff happened.

I grew up in Oklahoma, spending my teenage years in Tulsa. The city is the setting for SE Hinton’s book The Outsiders, later filmed by Francis Ford Coppola in Tulsa. I grew up near the old Greenwood business district, once one of the wealthiest Black communities in America. Only one of my cousins is named Billy Joe. Honest.

Accepted to Booker T. Washington high school, my primary interests were art and theater. I then studied Fine Art at Cornell University, concentrating in lithographic and silkscreen printing. I interned with Mac Arthur Award winning artist Robert Blackburn at the Printmaking Workshop. During my final year, I traveled to Italy for a semester with the Cornell in Rome Program.

After graduation, I settled in Brooklyn, New York to labor as a Graphic Artist, acquiring expertise in design, retouching, illustration, and animation.
