Another exhausting marathon of geek culture has come to an end. Getting up at 7:00 every morning ensured easy entry, except for Friday when security insisted we empty everything out of our pockets and put the contents in our bags.
GO TO MY NY COMIC CON 2016 PICTURE ALBUM
The panel for one of my favorite shows, Humans, was very enjoyable. A plague of human sentience will break out among random androids all over the world next season, sowing fears of a robotic revolution. Anita, one of the leading androids from last season, may get romantically involved with a human. It was funny to see Joe the adulterous father in person. I thought he looked different than on TV, but my wife disagrees.
The long walk from Javits to Madison Square Garden was rewarded with an interview with Planet of the Apes motion capture actor Andy Serkis and a clip from the third movie, War for the Planet of the Apes. He sees his brand of acting as the future. Although I wouldn’t go that far, the CGI techniques for generating apes from human performances is amazing. Also Woody Harrelson will be the main human protagonist. Epic or disaster? I lean toward epic.
There were other panels, great cosplay, and many unusual sights to keep me occupied. Even the overpriced Javits food couldn’t spoil my enthusiasm. You can see more of my pictures HERE.
