Setting up for class

We were setting up for our Video Production in the Field course at BRIC in downtown Brooklyn. They provide resources for ordinary citizens to create content for Brooklyn community cable television. We learned how to use professional video and audio equipment, including cameras, lights, and microphones. It was 3 four hour classes for only $50! In the last class, students took equipment outside to practice the techniques that we learned. Those who successfully complete the course become certified Producers. Producers are allowed to check out equipment for their own projects if they want.

The purpose of art is to help us understand and cope with life.

The Katyń Memorial is dedicated to the victims of the Katyn massacre in 1940. It commemorates the massacre of thousands of Polish prisoners by order of Joseph Stalin in April and May 1940 after Soviet Union troops had invaded eastern Poland. The event came after the partition of Poland and the occupation of the nation during World War II. The eastside of the pediment has a bronze relief depicting the starvation of Poles sent to Siberia.
